HVAC Maintenance — Davie, Davidson & Forsyth Counties

Prevent Breakdowns
Before They Happen.

Seasonal tune-ups and maintenance plans that extend equipment life, keep energy bills in check, and catch small problems before they become expensive ones.

Preventative Maintenance

The Cheapest Repair Is the One You Never Need

Most HVAC failures don't happen without warning — they develop slowly, through worn components, dirty coils, low refrigerant, or loose electrical connections. A maintenance visit catches those issues before they cause a system failure in the middle of August or January.

Studies consistently show that regularly maintained HVAC systems use 15–20% less energy than neglected systems and last significantly longer. The cost of two tune-up visits per year is a fraction of what a single avoidable emergency repair costs — let alone a premature system replacement.

K&W's maintenance visits are thorough, documented, and honest. If we find something that needs attention, we'll tell you what it is, what it costs to fix, and how urgent it is — without pressure.

Maintenance — Common Questions

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

Most HVAC systems benefit from two service visits per year: a spring tune-up to prepare your cooling system before the heat arrives, and a fall tune-up to prepare your heating system before temperatures drop. Heat pumps, which run year-round, particularly benefit from both visits.

What does a K&W maintenance visit include?

Our seasonal tune-up covers a full inspection and cleaning of both indoor and outdoor components — coil cleaning, refrigerant check, electrical connections, safety controls, thermostat calibration, blower and motor inspection, and a full system performance evaluation. We document what we find and flag anything that needs attention.

Does regular maintenance really make a difference?

Yes, significantly. A well-maintained HVAC system typically uses 15–20% less energy than a neglected one. More importantly, maintenance visits catch small problems — a capacitor starting to fail, a refrigerant level dropping slowly — before they cause complete system failures, often at the worst time of year.

Will my manufacturer warranty be voided without maintenance?

Many manufacturer warranties require documented annual maintenance to remain valid. If your system fails and you can't show maintenance records, the warranty claim may be denied. We provide documentation of every service visit so you have the records you need.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

Yes. Our maintenance plan covers two seasonal tune-ups per year (spring and fall), priority scheduling over non-plan customers, and a discount on any repairs needed. It's the most cost-effective way to keep your system running reliably year after year. Call us to get enrolled.

How often should I change my air filter?

Most standard 1-inch filters should be changed every 1–3 months. Thicker media filters (4–5 inch) can last 6–12 months. The right interval depends on your filter type, how much you run your system, and whether you have pets or allergies. We'll advise on the right schedule for your specific system during your tune-up visit.
