Advance Is Effectively Our Backyard
K&W Service and Repair operates out of 149 Yadkin Valley Road in Bermuda Run — a short drive up NC-801 from the Hillsdale intersection. Advance is not an outlying market we occasionally reach; it is where a large share of our work happens week to week, and where a lot of our customers came from a neighbor’s recommendation rather than an ad.
That proximity matters most on the calls where it counts. When an emergency request comes in, you get a person and a callback as soon as we have one — not a slot three days out. Same-day service is usually how emergencies get handled, and for everything else we will tell you honestly whether we can shuffle a scheduled call and reach you today or whether tomorrow is the real answer.
Advance also happens to be one of the areas where having all three trades under one license is genuinely useful. The homes built through the 1990s and 2000s boom out here tend to need HVAC, plumbing, and electrical attention at roughly the same stage of life — and it is simpler for everyone if that is one company with one set of notes on your house.
Advance Neighborhoods We Work In
These are the Advance neighborhoods and communities we are in most weeks. All of 27006 is inside our regular service area.
- Oak ValleyThe golf community around Oak Valley Golf Club. Larger homes, many with zoned systems and more than one air handler.
- Greenwood LakesEstablished Advance subdivision off NC-801 — a frequent stop for heat pump service and replacements.
- Myers RidgeNewer construction with higher-efficiency equipment, where correct maintenance makes a measurable difference.
- Beauchamp OaksOff Beauchamp Road, close to our shop — among the quickest addresses for us to reach.
- ArrowheadLonger-established homes where original systems are now reaching replacement age.
- HeidelbergResidential service across the neighborhood for all three trades.
- IdlewildHVAC, plumbing, and electrical work throughout.
- Green Brier AcresLarger lots, and often well and septic systems that change how plumbing work is approached.

One Call for All Three Trades
Most Advance homeowners keep three different numbers for this. You only need ours — the same licensed company handles your heating and cooling, your plumbing, and your electrical.
Heating & Cooling
AC and furnace repair, heat pump service and replacement, duct work, maintenance plans, and indoor air quality. NC Contractor License #15782.
Plumbing
Clogged drains and active water leaks are what we get called for most — along with water heaters, fixtures, toilets, and supply line repairs. Covered under the same NC license #15782.
Electrical
Panel and breaker work, outlets and switches, fixtures and ceiling fans, dedicated circuits, and troubleshooting. NC Electrical Contractor License #29978.
What We See Most in Advance Homes
Advance grew quickly from the mid-1990s onward, and a lot of this housing stock is hitting the same milestones at the same time.
First-generation heat pumps at end of life
A heat pump installed during the 1990s and 2000s build-out is now well past its design life. We will tell you plainly whether a repair gets you another few seasons or whether you are putting money into a unit that will not make it — and we are not paid to push you toward replacement.
Two systems, one failing
Larger Advance homes often run two systems or a zoned setup, and only one side goes down. The upstairs stops cooling while the downstairs is fine. That is usually a specific, findable fault rather than a reason to replace everything.
Well water and water heaters
On the larger lots outside the subdivisions, well water puts sediment through a water heater faster than municipal supply does. It shows up as noise, slow recovery, or a tank that fails earlier than it should.
Added circuits for finished space
Bonus rooms, garages, and outbuildings get finished out and then overloaded. We add dedicated circuits and sort out panel capacity properly rather than stacking one more thing on a tired breaker.

Where We Work
Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties — Bermuda Run, Advance, Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Mocksville, Kernersville, Pfafftown, Lexington and Thomasville, and the communities around them. For new construction and builder projects, we travel considerably farther.
Written Estimates
You see the number before anyone picks up a tool. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it — and the diagnostic fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair.
Emergency and Same-Day
Submit an emergency request and we will take the call and get back to you as fast as we can — emergencies are never left in a queue. For everything else, if a technician is nearby or a scheduled call can move, same day is often possible.
Advance — Common Questions
How soon can you get to my house in Advance?
Advance is minutes from our shop in Bermuda Run, so it is one of the faster areas for us to reach. For a true emergency, submit a request or call and we will take the call and get back to you as quickly as we can — we do not put emergencies in a queue. For non-emergency repairs, if a technician is already on this side of town or we can move a scheduled call, we will often get to you the same day. We would rather give you an honest answer when you call than promise an arrival window we cannot hold.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical in Advance, or only HVAC?
All three. K&W holds North Carolina contractor license #15782, covering HVAC and plumbing, and NC electrical contractor license #29978. Clogged drains, water leaks, water heaters, panel and breaker work, outlets, and fixtures are all in-house — we are not subcontracting them out or handing you a referral.
Which Advance neighborhoods do you serve?
All of them, and all of the 27006 ZIP code. Oak Valley, Greenwood Lakes, Myers Ridge, Beauchamp Oaks, Arrowhead, Heidelberg, Idlewild, and Green Brier Acres are the communities we are in most often, along with the homes on larger lots between them.
Will you tell me if a repair makes more sense than a new system?
Yes, and we do it regularly. You get a written estimate before anyone picks up a tool, and the diagnostic fee is waived if you go ahead with the repair. If your system has one failed part and ten good years left, replacing it is not our recommendation.
