We Try to Fix It Before We Sell You a New One
Most HVAC companies make more money selling new equipment than they do repairing existing systems. K&W is different. We built our business on a repair-first philosophy — meaning our technicians are trained to diagnose accurately and exhaust every repair option before recommending replacement.
That approach has earned us over 130 five-star Google reviews and more than a decade of repeat customers across Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties. When we do recommend a new system, you can trust that it's the right call — not a sales pitch.
We're a Christian, family-owned business. We show up on time, explain what we find in plain language, and charge a fair price. That's it.

AC Repair
When your air conditioner stops working in the middle of a North Carolina summer, you need a technician who can diagnose the problem fast and fix it right the first time.
K&W Service and Repair handles all types of AC problems — refrigerant leaks, failed capacitors, frozen evaporator coils, compressor issues, thermostat failures, and more. We service all major brands and carry the most common parts on our trucks so most repairs are completed in a single visit.
We don't just fix the symptom. We find the root cause so the same problem doesn't come back three months later. If your system is reaching the end of its useful life, we'll tell you honestly — and if a repair makes more financial sense than a replacement, we'll tell you that too.
Full AC Repair Details →Heating Repair
A heating failure in winter isn't just uncomfortable — for elderly residents and young children, it can be dangerous. K&W offers same-day emergency heating repair across Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties.
We repair furnaces, heat pumps, and all types of heating systems across all major brands. Common issues we handle include failed ignitors, cracked heat exchangers, faulty pressure switches, blower motor failures, and gas valve problems. Our technicians are trained to work on gas and electric systems safely and correctly.
If your heat isn't working and it's cold outside, call us. We'll get there.
Full Heating Repair Details →Heat Pump Service & Repair
Heat pumps are one of the most energy-efficient ways to heat and cool a home — but they're also more complex than a standard AC or furnace, which means they require a technician who actually knows them.
K&W technicians are experienced with single-stage, two-stage, and variable-speed heat pump systems from all major manufacturers. We handle reversing valve failures, refrigerant issues, defrost control problems, auxiliary heat lockouts, and more. We also install new heat pump systems sized correctly for your home's actual load — not just whatever's cheapest on the truck.
Full Heat Pump Details →HVAC Installation
A new HVAC system is a significant investment. The brand matters less than you think — the installation quality matters most.
An oversized system short-cycles and leaves your home humid. An undersized system runs constantly and can't keep up on the hottest or coldest days. K&W performs a proper load calculation before recommending any system so your new equipment is sized right for your home, your ductwork, and your climate.
We install systems from all major manufacturers and can help you choose between a standard split system, a heat pump, a mini-split, or a packaged unit depending on your situation. All installations include a full startup checklist and we register your warranty for you.
Full Installation Details →Preventative Maintenance
The most expensive HVAC repair is the one that could have been prevented. A $150 tune-up can stop a $1,500 compressor failure before it happens.
K&W's seasonal maintenance visits include a full system inspection, coil cleaning, refrigerant check, electrical connection tightening, filter replacement, thermostat calibration, and a written report of anything we find. We offer spring cooling tune-ups and fall heating tune-ups.
Regular maintenance also keeps manufacturer warranties valid — most require documented annual service. If you're skipping maintenance, you may be voiding coverage you're counting on.
Full Maintenance Details →Duct Services
Your ductwork is the delivery system for everything your HVAC does. Leaky, dirty, or poorly designed ducts can waste up to 30% of the conditioned air your system produces — and you pay for all of it.
K&W handles duct inspection, cleaning, sealing, and full replacement. We find leaks using pressure testing and visual inspection, seal them with mastic or metal tape (not duct tape, which fails), and rebalance airflow across the house. If your ducts are beyond repair, we design and install a new duct system correctly.
Full Duct Services Details →Indoor Air Quality
The EPA estimates indoor air can be 2–5 times more polluted than outdoor air. For families with allergies, asthma, or young children, that matters.
K&W installs and services whole-home air purifiers, UV germicidal lights, media filters, HEPA filtration systems, whole-home humidifiers, and dehumidifiers. We assess your current system and recommend the solution that actually addresses your air quality problem — not just the most expensive product we carry.
Full Air Quality Details →Plumbing
Clogged drains and water leaks make up the bulk of what we're called for — the everyday problems that make a house unlivable until someone deals with them.
K&W handles drain clearing, leak detection and repair, water heater service and replacement, toilet and faucet repair, fixture installation, garbage disposals, and frozen or burst pipes. When a drain keeps backing up after it's been cleared, we run a camera to find the actual cause rather than clearing the same clog again next month.
Our plumbing work is covered by the same North Carolina contractor license as our HVAC work — #15782 — and held to the same standard: a written estimate before anything starts, and a repair recommended ahead of a replacement whenever a repair will genuinely hold.
Full Plumbing Details →Electrical
Electrical is the one trade where a shortcut doesn't show up as an inconvenience — it shows up years later as a fire or a failed inspection during a home sale.
K&W handles panel upgrades and replacements, service upgrades, new circuits, outlet and switch installation, GFCI and AFCI protection, lighting, ceiling fan wiring, Level 2 EV charger installation, generator transfer switches, and troubleshooting for breakers that keep tripping or circuits that have gone dead.
We hold North Carolina electrical license #29978 and pull permits on every job that requires one. A warm outlet, a burning smell near a panel, or scorch marks around a switch are not things to schedule for next month — shut off that breaker and call us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most often from homeowners and businesses across the Triad.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical, or only HVAC?
All three. K&W holds North Carolina contractor license #15782 covering HVAC and plumbing, and electrical license #29978. That means one call and one company for heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical work instead of three different contractors and three different schedules.
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
Yes, we charge a diagnostic fee to come out and assess the problem. That fee is waived when you proceed with the repair — so if we fix it, the diagnostic is on us.
Do your trucks carry parts?
Our trucks are stocked with the most common HVAC parts and components for all major brands. Most repairs are completed in a single visit without waiting on a parts order.
What brands of HVAC equipment do you service?
We service and repair all major brands including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, American Standard, Bryant, York, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and more. If you have it, we can fix it.
Will you honor my manufacturer warranty even if you didn't install the system?
Yes. K&W Service and Repair honors manufacturer warranties regardless of who originally installed the equipment. We perform warranty repairs correctly and document everything properly.
How quickly can you respond to a service call?
For emergencies, we offer same-day service across Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties — HVAC, electrical, and plumbing alike. For non-emergency repairs and maintenance, we will get you on the schedule as soon as we have an opening that works for you — and if a technician is already nearby or a scheduled call can shift, we will often reach you sooner than planned.
Do you work on both residential and commercial systems?
Yes. We service residential homes, rental properties, and light commercial buildings across the Triad. If you're not sure whether your system qualifies, just give us a call.
Do you offer maintenance plans?
Yes. Seasonal maintenance plans cover a spring cooling tune-up and a fall heating tune-up. Regular maintenance extends equipment life, keeps warranties valid, and catches small problems before they become expensive ones.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties including Mocksville, Advance, Bermuda Run, Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Lexington, and Thomasville. Call us if you're unsure whether we cover your area.
