Forsyth County, NC

The West Side of the City Is Our Side of the City

Winston-Salem is the largest market we serve, and we concentrate where we can actually deliver: the west and southwest side, reachable from our Bermuda Run shop straight up Country Club Road or across I-40. That focus is deliberate. A company that claims the whole city equally is usually telling you something about its marketing rather than its trucks.

This part of the city also has the most interesting housing stock in the Triad, and the most varied. Buena Vista homes date to the 1910s through the 1930s. Sherwood Forest is solidly mid-century. Century Oaks went up in the late 1990s. Brookberry Farm is still being built. Those four houses need four genuinely different approaches, and the technician who treats them the same is going to get one of them wrong.

Older homes in particular are where having HVAC, plumbing, and electrical under one license earns its keep. Retrofitting a modern system into a 1920s house is rarely only an HVAC job — it touches wiring, venting, and sometimes drain lines. One company that can do all three means nobody is standing around waiting for somebody else's subcontractor.

Winston-Salem Neighborhoods We Work In

The west and southwest Winston-Salem neighborhoods we work in most. If you are on this side of the city, you are almost certainly inside our area.

  • Buena VistaThe city's premier older neighborhood, largely 1910s–1930s. Retrofit work here needs a careful hand and respect for the house.
  • Brookberry FarmCustom estate homes plus active new construction. Large, often multi-zone systems and heavy electrical loads.
  • Sherwood ForestEstablished mid-century neighborhood — including Old Sherwood Forest and New Sherwood Forest.
  • Century OaksBuilt in the late 1990s on roughly half-acre lots. Original systems are now at replacement age.
  • Bent Tree FarmSmall, high-end community off Bent Tree Farm Road with houses and condos alike.
  • Greenbrier FarmLarger homes on the west side, often with more than one system.
  • Lavender HillUpper-end residential service across all three trades.
  • Grey OaksEstablished west-side neighborhood, regular HVAC and plumbing calls.
  • Reynolda ParkOlder homes near Reynolda, where modern equipment has to fit an original floor plan.
  • Forsyth Country Club areaThe homes along and around Country Club Road near Forsyth Country Club, the city's oldest club.
  • RidgemereResidential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical throughout.
  • Robin Hood DellEstablished west-side streets with aging original systems.

One Call for All Three Trades

Most Winston-Salem homeowners keep three different numbers for this. You only need ours — the same licensed company handles your heating and cooling, your plumbing, and your electrical.

Heating & Cooling

AC and furnace repair, heat pump service and replacement, duct work, maintenance plans, and indoor air quality. NC Contractor License #15782.

Plumbing

Clogged drains and active water leaks are what we get called for most — along with water heaters, fixtures, toilets, and supply line repairs. Covered under the same NC license #15782.

Electrical

Panel and breaker work, outlets and switches, fixtures and ceiling fans, dedicated circuits, and troubleshooting. NC Electrical Contractor License #29978.

What Winston-Salem's Older Housing Stock Throws at Us

A 1925 house, a 1958 house, and a 2019 house fail in completely different ways. These are the ones we see most on the west side.

Modern systems in houses that predate them

A home built before central air was standard has no good place to put ductwork, and the compromises made in the 1970s to force it in are often what is actually wrong. Fixing the airflow frequently matters more than replacing the equipment.

Electrical that was never meant for this much load

Early wiring and undersized panels are common in the oldest neighborhoods. Breakers that trip on a space heater or an oven are a capacity problem, not a breaker problem, and we will tell you what it actually takes to fix properly.

Original drain and supply lines

Galvanized supply and cast iron drains reach a point where repeated clogs and pinhole leaks are the pipe telling you something. We will distinguish between the clog in front of us and the condition behind it.

Big new builds with complicated systems

At the other end, newer Brookberry Farm and Bent Tree Farm homes run multiple zones, tankless water heaters, and heavy electrical service. More systems means more to go wrong — and more value in catching it on a maintenance visit.

Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth counties — Bermuda Run, Advance, Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Mocksville, Kernersville, Pfafftown, Lexington and Thomasville, and the communities around them. For new construction and builder projects, we travel considerably farther.

Written Estimates

You see the number before anyone picks up a tool. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it — and the diagnostic fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair.

Winston-Salem — Common Questions

Do you serve all of Winston-Salem?

We concentrate on the west and southwest side, which is what we can reach reliably from our shop in Bermuda Run. Buena Vista, Brookberry Farm, Sherwood Forest, Century Oaks, the Forsyth Country Club area along Country Club Road, and the surrounding west-side neighborhoods are squarely in our area. If you are elsewhere in the city, call and we will give you a straight answer rather than booking a call we cannot cover well.

How quickly can you get out here?

Winston-Salem is roughly fifteen minutes to half an hour from our shop depending on where you are and the time of day. For an emergency, submit a request or call and we will take it and get back to you as fast as we can — emergencies are never put in a queue. For routine repairs we will often get to you the same day if a technician is already on this side of the city or a scheduled call can shift, and we will be honest when the realistic answer is tomorrow.

Do you work on older homes, or only newer construction?

Both, and the older homes are a large share of our west-side work. Buena Vista, Reynolda Park, and Sherwood Forest houses need a different approach than a new build — the right answer is often improving what is there rather than tearing it out, and we will say so when that is the case.

Is it really one company for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical?

Yes. NC contractor license #15782 covers our HVAC and plumbing work and NC electrical contractor license #29978 covers our electrical work. On older homes that matters more than it sounds, because the jobs tend to cross trades — and we are not coordinating around somebody else's subcontractor to finish.
